Triangles.......

For A Layout

Well I'm back again with another DT project for the Craft Barn. This time the remit was to use triangles on any project we like. I've chosen to do a layout and to use triangular photographs. It makes a change from the usual 6x4 and 5x7 photos.
Anyway this is my layout

If you look closely you'll see that I've used a tiny triangular background stamp too, it's a Kaisercraft one
I've used artistic licence and gone with using a diamond shaped stencil and some gold Dreamweaver paste - the idea being that diamonds are double triangles, get it!!
Some splattering of Distress Stains and a bit of Frantage added a bit of embellishment

Okay so as usual you will see more triangle inspiration this week over on the Craft Barn Blog http://www.thecraftbarn.co.uk/blog/

Tando In .....

Card making

If you've never played with Tando products before it's worth having a look at all the fabulous products they sell.
So when the dt remit was to use Tando mini sets in card making I chose the flowers to work with. I also chose a Jofy stamp set so I could use the flower stem and the grass to work with and also the words are great to make up your own messages. How I've made this design is on the blog

Some Distress Paint and Glossy Accents make the flowers really colourful and glossy

Go take a look at what else the dt have made this week
                                                http://www.thecraftbarn.co.uk/blog/

You'll find lots of inspiration on there

Show And Tell.....

What I've been up to!

Well here we are again. I'm still in recovery from my visits to the trade show but what a great time I've had. Soooo many friends to catch up with, new friends met and new work opportunities on the horizon.
It all started on Saturday with a Finnabair workshop, she was amazing and such a lovely lady. I have been fortunate to meet her before and could stand and watch her work all day. This is what we made

Then on Sunday we, myself and a few crafty friends arrived at the show and did two workshops. The first was with the very talented Andy Skinner

Somehow I have been given the job of making some paper roses for our Mr Skinner, for him to take to a show in America in April, after he pinched the one I had for Nina Greco from Crafting Time. You may remember I made them for a Craft Barn Challenge

So he has given me a couple more colours to play with. I'll show you when I've done some.

The second class was with the gorgeous Leandra Franich of Paper Artsy fame. This project has some finishing off to do so I'll show pics of that when I've had time to catch up.

I'm quite excited about some new ventures to come, again that's for another day. One thing I'm happy to tell you is that I've been asked to make some designs for ColourCraft, the suppliers of Brushos. Now you all know how I like my Brushos so I'm looking forward to working with some of the new products they have on the market.

Right so now this Saturday the 21st February I'll be off to visit Kraftiz, in Swadlincote, to do two WOW Workshops and as I've never been here before I'm looking forward to seeing  the lovely Julie and her ladies

I'll be back again tomorrow with my next Craft Barn dt project so see you soon xx

You Shall Go....

To The Ball.          http://www.thecraftbarnblog.blogspot.co.uk

Well I'm not sure if I should start tap dancing or waltzing round the craft room but I think I would be called twinkle toes if I was wearing a pair of shoes like this

Or perhaps I should get a little dog called Toto and change my name to Dorothy

This was made for this weeks Craft Barn Challenge so go have a look at the other designs made this week
If you want to know how the bow was made all the how too's are on the blog

A New Toy.....

Oooooh I'm a happy bunny  Ooooh yes I am
I'm the proud owner of the new Tim Holtz Emboss and Die Butterfly and how wonderful it is.
Not only that I am also the owner of the new Tim Holtz Thinlits Die with four fantastic designs in the little packet.
I promised Wendy from Daisy Jewels and Crafts that I would show and tell when I had made something with them so I got straight on it and here it is

Some Distress Inks in Evergreen Bough, Peacock Feathers and Crushed Olive worked perfectly.
The Dies cut beautifully and the butterflies are divine. After embossing and colouring them I swiped over them with a black Archival Ink Pad.

I'm in heaven and think you'll be seeing more of these

Card Making Time....

I've been having a little play and came up with these two designs.
Both have been done with the cosmic shimmer Gold Pearl Texture Paste and some Distress Inks
This one is going off to Wendy at Daisy Jewels and Crafts today for her birthday, which is today. So Happy Birthday Wendy

On this one I've used a Sweet Poppy Metal stencil I bought a while back and forgot I had

I'll be off on my travels up north again this week with a trip to The Lakes and to The Paper Warehouse
this is one of the designs we will be making. For this design I've used a WOW set of stamps, I hope they enjoy making this

After a change in my work plans for today I'm going off to a local craft show with some friends for a crafty catch up and to pick up the new Tim Holtz emboss and die cut butterfly from Daisy Jewels and Crafts.
The lovely Wendy is bringing it over for me, what an angel!!

Mister Fox....

Mini Book

Hi again Bloggers.
Now you know I've used the Mister Fox Collection before, a while back now, but I've brought it out again to make my next Craft Barn DT project and the topic is mini books

I used the WeRMemory Keepers envelope punch board to make a bow for the front cover and added a doilly and lots of metal embellies

A lovely Kaisercraft wooden bird painted black

If you want to see how I made the inside you can get all the info on the Craft Barn Blog
                     http://www.thecraftbarn.co.uk/blog/

My plans for this weekend have now changed and I have a weekend off so what do I do when I'm not working?? Yep I visit a craft show!!
I'll be picking up my new Tim Holtz Butterfly from Wendy at Daisys, she is bringing it for me from the shop, so I can't wait (doing a happy dance)  Oh and today I've ordered my new Cracked Pistachio ReInker from the Craft Barn too. Ok I now I haven't got the actual inkpad yet but I know I'll be using it loads.

Right, so back to this mini book, will you let me know what you think of it??

I haven't decorated the pages yet, I've got a bit behind after having a chest infection this past week but I'm all good now so got some catching up to do

February....

Calendar Challenge

It's time for the next page in my calendar for 2016

The topic was, as you can see, red and hearts.
I coloured the hearts red then embossed them with a glittery red embossing powder.
I've used both Tim Holtz and Jofy stamps and I've also made a gold and glittery red moulded heart

I need to start work on the March design now

Once again if you pop over to the Craft Barn blog you can see the other DT calendars

Please note the new blog site. We've moved back to Blogger
