Q and L Challenge.....

It's time for the new Q and L challenge over at the Craft Barn, that's as in Quotes and Lyrics, and the theme this time is Path and Horizon.
So I have chosen Horizon and used the lyrics from a Bob Dylan song called Beyond The Horizon.
Distress Inks and the IndigoBlu Treemendous stamp have been used to make my design. The tree has been embossed in an antique gold poweder to make it a little distressed

If you would like to see the other DT designs or would like to enter the challenge pop along to the blog here http://www.thecraftbarn.co.uk/blog/

A Scrap Layout.....

I'm really happy how this has turned out. I hope you can see the raised frames properly.

Those of you who have seen the photographs of my granddaughters beautiful hair will be surprised to see that this was her at her christening. The distinct lack of hair was obviously the build up to all the curls she has now. My sister, who is Niamhs' godmother, is holding her.
It's one of my favourite photos.
The papers are Bo Bunny and the back paper is Fancy Pants. I've used a bit of frantage and ink on the birdcage and it's come out really nice.
So let me know what you think of it.

I feel there may have to be another give away soon as the followers number has risen to 90 and if we could get to the magic number of 100 I would definitely do a give away.
I know I've said it before but I am really blown away when I read the comments that you leave me.
So what do you think guys, can we reach that fantastic 100

A Workshop Favourite....

Crikey I seem to be back here blogging with a vengeance after being awol for a while.
This was a very successful card design at my last workshop at The Paper Warehouse in Kendal, and it's now a favourite of mine too. I love using kraft card and the dark greens look so good against it.
I've used IndigoBlu Stamps for this design, the Big Butterfly and the Boadicea set.
The colour is made up from Evergreen Bough, Forest Moss and Faded Jeans Distress Inks and the heat embossing has been done with Cosmic Shimmer Viola Black Aurora powder.
Do ya like it too???? Let me know
Now I'm gonna show you a very special card that was designed and made by one of my Grandsons for his daddy for Fathers' Day

Do you think he's following in Grandmas footsteps??
My son was just a bit concerned that he doesn't seem to have any pupils in his eyes but hey I think he looks just fine!!

The Craft Barns Latest..........

New Design Team Member!!!!

Yes it's little old me!!
Well you could say gobsmacked was the operative word on the day I opened my
e mails and there it was, staring at me, the lovely ladies at The Craft Barn were asking me, yes me, if I would consider being on their Design Team.
It didn't take me long to think about it (well no time at all really). I was honoured to be asked.
So here it is...... my first DT project......and I've only had to go and use those brilliant new Prima Marketing Colour Bloom Sprays, such a chore NOT!! Now you may need a sit down and a nice cuppa for this one as it has a tutorial too
I've done a canvas and I hope you like it. I've combined my love of stamping with the sprays and used the Kaisercraft Texture Stamps
Pop along to the Craft Barn Blog and take a look here.......
http://www.thecraftbarn.co.uk/blog/

I started by spraying water on to the canvas and when it was nice and wet I sprayed the Colour Blooms.
Allow the colours to run around the canvas then heat gun it dry. If you think you need more colour, as they will dilute quite a lot with the added water spray, just keep adding more water and more sprays until you get the colour you want. Don't be frightened to move the colour around. This is how it started...........

then you need to tear around the images as you only need 1ply. It's better to tear them than to cut them out

I applied them to the canvas with IndigoBlu Slap It On

Then I added Gold Pearl Cosmic Shimmer Texture Paste through the Kaisercraft Honeycomb Stencil
then allow it to dry. It looks white here but does dry pale gold
Next was to colour some Kaisercraft Paper Blooms with the sprays and dry off with a heat gun for speed
Add the final leaves and metal corners and there you have it.

I hope I can do the team proud and once again thank you to the Craft Barn

Tag Your It......

That's the Title of the new IndigoBlu Challenge theme this month and the stamps I've chosen to use are the Under the Sea Set

I do love this set
I sprayed a panel of card stock with water then I sprayed it
with Cottage Paints diluted in water, Townhouse Teal and
Then I blended a bit of Salty Ocean Distress Ink around the edges. Then came the stamping. I repeated on the tag too.

I spread glue around the wave at the bottom and added some Cosmic Shimmer
Glossy Accents on the fish and a few pearls finished off the design.

All The Eights.....

Eighty Eight!!
I was soooo very tempted to put the old bingo saying about fat  two ladies but as my grandchildren Declan And Niamh were brought up not to call people the "F A T" word I won't, only to say that they would have said "two rather large ladies". So now I have eighty eight followers, how cool is that!!

Anyway I'm here with a quick visit to say that Debbie Whatley has claimed her prize and it will be winging it's way to her tomorrow.
I'll be posting it on my way to Kendal for my next workshop at The Paper Warehouse, which is on Thursday. Pics will follow on
I've been to visit Daisy Jewels and Crafts, in Coventry, this morning. I've delivered the mannequin that I'll be doing a workshop with on Sunday 20th July 10.30 - 4pm so if you might be interested just give them a call.

My little secret is still hush hush I'm afraid but not long to wait now...........

Here It Is......

At Last!!
Blog post number 250 YAY!!!

So time for a stash give away.!!!!!!!!

Please forgive my absence and delay in bringing you the give away. It has been all go for the last couple of weeks.
Last weekend saw me down south in Surrey for the Craft Barn Extravaganza and my first venture on the infamous M25 but I can't complain about it as it was very kind to me.
When I arrived there on the Friday I went to take a peek at the marquee and it looked huge

Then it didn't look so big once it was filled with Happy Crafters

Helen Chilton, Di Oliver and myself doing attempting to do a selfie

All set up and ready to rock

It was a really great weekend and fun was had by all, especially when Leandra Franich, Michelle Johnson and yours truly went on the shortest pub crawl in Godstone due to the fact the only pub had a private party going on and we couldn't go in so we ended up back at our hotel for a little nightcap and a selfie session

I would like to say I was being led astray by these two (snigger) !!

So, onto my blog candy......
and here it is......

The prize includes two Hunkydory Packs and two craft magazines donated by Inspirations by Cardcraft Plus and  Kaisercraft stamps and goodies donated by Jones Craft and me
All my lovely followers, and I appreciate each and every one of you all, will be entered into the random draw. So today is the final day for sneaking in quickly for a chance to win and I will announce the winner tomorrow.

Keep tuning back in for some news coming very soon...
'cause Pauline has another secret??????

Tuesday 3 June 2014

Post number.....

Two Hundred and Forty Nine which means..... Tah Dah..... the next one will be the blog candy post

I've been putting the giveaway prize together and have got a lovely little parcel going to some lucky person.
I've gained two new followers plus I will include Elaine, who apparently is following me on bloglovin. I don't see the followers on there so if any one can ell me how I find out I would appreciate it.

So just to update you all I'll be off on my travels again tomorrow. I'm off to demo at Inspirations by Cardcraft Plus, in Preston. I'll be there for Jones Craft and will be showing all the new Kaisercraft Collections.
Then on Friday I'll be off again but this time I'm going down south to visit the lovely people at The Craft Barn for their Extravaganza Weekend where again I'll be demoing all things Kaisercraft for Jones Craft.

Recently I did a class at The Crafty Bunch in Telford with the "Intergalactical MegaStar" that is
Hels Sheridan
We couldn't resist a bit of a selfie  moment

Anyway this is what we made

I just love this, although Hels made me come right out of my comfort zone and was making me do "Random" when we started the project. Now me and random don't get along too well, we have a bit of a struggle but I persevered and was really pleased with my project.

Right I will away and be back with goodies on the next post
have a good week lovelies
