Ignorance....

Is one of the words for the latest Q and L Challenge for The Craft Barn and I've chosen a Quote by Hunter S. Thompson.

I've used Ranger Distress Stains and Paints, including metallics, for my base and Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous stamps and TH rub ons on top. I love the effect this gives.

Inspirations......

Demo Day.
Well what another fabulous time I've had in Preston. I have to say thank you to the Inspirations team once again for looking after me. I was demoing for Jones Craft, using the Kaisercraft Pitter Patter Collection, on the Wednesday and doing my mini book workshop on the Thursday. When I arrived at the shop on Tuesday and walked through the doors to the minute I left on Thursday evening I had a great time.
It was good to put some faces to names that I talk to on Facebook on a regular basis, like Crafty Aly, Linda Page, Judith Taylor-Wright and Linda Simpson but also to meet new people like Rae Dalal and Kath MuckyPaws Halstead. Forgive me if I've forgotten anyone!!
This was my display table.......

And here's a couple of the samples......

I was demoing how to make cards with left over paper and also designs that didn't have to be baby related.

I hope to be back there very soon. In the meantime I'm off to Telford today to do a Demo Day at The Crafty Bunch using all things IndigoBlu so why not join me there if you can.

New Christmas Stamps.....

It's new challenge time at IndigoBlu and this time it's
Christmas In July
What better way to launch the new IB Christmas designs
This is my DT design and I've used Perfect Pearls and Versamark to make the background and the stamp is called Snowflake Lace. The round greeting is a Dinkie called Merry Christmas Circle.
A nice bit of brushed silver card for the layering and a few snowflakes finishes it off.
Check out the rest of the DT designs here on the Challenge Blog

A Little Birdie.....

Or three......

It's The Craft Barns latest project today and we are using the set of three nesting bird shape boxes. I've chosen to use Kroma Crackle to decorate mine, which has been mixed with a little paint.
There is full step be step details on the blog, as usual, so why not pop across and take a look here
http://www.thecraftbarn.co.uk/blog/
I painted them with black gesso first then mixed the Kroma with three colours of paint. You only need a tiny amount. Then sit back and wait for the magic to happen, which may take several days depending on what medium  you are applying it to, temperatures etc.
I think they are such fun things to decorate. This week the other DT members will be showing their ideas too so keep checking in to the Craft Barn Blog to see more.

Oh Baby......

DT project time again!! and it's another design for the Craft Barn. It's a layout this time and I've used the delightful Pitter Patter Collection from Kaisercraft. Check these papers out they are just lovely.

The photograph is of my beautiful granddaughter Niamh and would have been taken eight years ago when she was born.

I've done a faux stitching effect around the edge, love doing this effect!

A few gems added to embellish

There is a full tutorial on the Craft Barn Blog if you would like to visit http://www.thecraftbarn.co.uk/blog/

An Heirloom......

Mini Book using the gorgeous Heirloom Collection  papers from Kaisercraft.

This is the mini book project I taught at the Jones Craft Retailer Day and next week, on the 24th July I'm going to be doing it as a workshop at Inspirations in Preston.
If any one would like to join us I would look forward to you coming along. Just contact the shop for details.
It's a great easy way to make books of any size, but I can't give you instructions as that won't be fair to the people paying for the class now will it!! So I'll just show you some of the pages to whet your appetite.

The papers are going in my all time favourites, they really are delicious
