Cards Today....

                                                                   From IndigoBlu Stamps.
Hi, happy halloween! for those of you who take part in all things pumkin and ghoulie. Some years I feel more in the mood than others but this year I'm really not getting in the spirit. So have fun if you are.
Today I'm showing you two of the cards from my IB display from my demo at the weekend. This one above uses the Floral Swirl Stamp and the Antique Songbird Stamp. I've used Distress Inks to colour the card and also the sticky labels that I've stamped the image onto.
I can't tell you how many people asked me about this card. It seems not many had ever done this technique before. I however how been stamping onto labels for quite some years.
When you have coloured the labels stamp your design. Make sure all inks are dry before you lift them off and position them onto black card. If you don't press them down too hard you will be able to lift them again if they are not straight.
It won't matter how big the gaps are on the label sheet because you can place them however close you want. You can cut the black card to size first or trim to fit afterwards. It's up to you.

Failed miserably with the photography on this card. Thought I would mention that before Mrs G picks me up on it!!! She is going to have to be my personal photography tutor. Anyway back to the card. It can look really effective to make a feature out of a section of a stamp. I've used the IB Wild Flowers Stamp on this one. Again coloured the background first with Distress Inks and stamped after, then added a bit of colour to the poppies. I've used a bit of mountboard for the panel, just because it is firm and makes a good panel.
Have to say this stamp was the first sellout of the day, but I'm not surprised as it was very popular when I used it to decorate a candle. Have you done that technique I wonder????? Do I see a quick tutorial coming on........

Pics From....

The Lakes. Well I'm back and what a Fantastic time I've had!!!
I know, I know,  yes it is called work but when you are with such wonderful people it really is hard to call it work.
I have already had some really good feedback from the event and they want me to return which is totally amazing. I don't mean totally amazing that they would want me back of course!!!!! Who wouldn't want me back hee hee! And I'm more than happy to return (if only to have Friday night in "The Crown" again)
This is the most wonderful view from the house where I was staying on Friday

Setting up my display of samples

and ready to rock and roll

And meeting some of the lovely customers

And this is the wild, wet and windy view from my hotel just before I left for my journey home on Sunday

A Perfect Day......

With some amazing crafty friends in the Lake District.
What a busy day at Grosvenor House Papers. Eleven Demonstrations going on from Molly Bloom, Woodware, Crafters Companion, We R Memory Keepers, Lindsey Mason, Fimo, Pergamano, the lovely Janet from Grosvenor House and of course little old me demo'ing the fabulous IndigoBlu stamps and flakes, to name but a few.
Such an action packed crafty day and I'm just feeling a little exhausted right now. I have to say a HUGE big thank you to Janet and Keith for their hospitality this weekend and a fab time at the pub, The Crown at High Newton, and followed by a yummy curry for dinner.
Another big thank you goes to Jane and the team in the Grosvenor Craft Shop for all their running around, cups of tea and lovely lunch. To say I have enjoyed myself immensely would be an understatement and I might have to report back to HQ that I think I should be the only demonstrator that goes to Grosvenor House from now on, the FOUR HOUR journey wouldn't matter at all.
I only hope I will get back home tomorrow before the hurricane catches me up because here in Kendal the wind is howling outside already.
I'll be putting some pics on here soon
Xx

Before I go I said I would put a pic of Janes' prize on here, and this is what she will be getting....

Take A Note......

Just couldn't help myself.
I love a notebook and have seen some stunning samples whilst out and about but I do like to have a go myself. I've managed to get my hands on a supply of these Kraft covered books so set about designing one myself, and here it is.....

So I've decided to do a class.  If anyone is interested just contact me for details and I'll arrange a class date. We can have a design your own book or you can follow my design.

So whilst I was making some samples to take with me I thought I would make them a card using.... Tah Dah.... none other than the IB Map stamp, which is of course showing the Lake District. IndigoBlu Challenge......

It's the 21st of the month so that means a new challenge begins on the IndigoBlu Challenge Blog.
This months theme is Chocolate Orange
This is my DT card.
You can join in or have a look here

I have taken a panel of white card and painted it with the delicious IB Cottage Paints in Hot Cocoa and Burning Bonfire.I have not coloured the card completly so that you get bits of white showing through. I sort of dry brushed the Hot Cocoa so that it wasn't too strong. Next I stamped over it with the Love Is stamp in Versfine Sepia Ink. I then die cut the panel with a flower die and shaped and layered them together. I stamped an 8"x 8" card with my favourite Vintage Flourish stamp, again in sepia. Then I stamped the Discover Your Passion onto a peice of orange toned card and then placed a die over it, if you do it this way you can correct it if you haven't stamped it straight. Ink the edges with a little distress ink in Frayed Burlap. Add pads for dimension.
Hope you like it and feel inspired to have a go. Just remember if you haven't got the right colours for a project, paint your own!!
