A Paper Weaving.......

Scrap Layout

A bit of Kaisercraft Rustic Harmony has been used for this double layout. It's such a lovely collection, fab soft colours.
Paper weaving was one of the suggested topics for this weeks DT project at the Craft Barn and I quite like doing this technique so I set about designing the layout. All the details are on the blog if you want more details of how I designed the layout

                 http://www.thecraftbarn.co.uk/blog/

All the edges of the strips were inked to add a bit more definition.
I'll be adding my journalling later

For those that visited here yesterday and found no images as you can now see
I have my internet connection back - I'm blaming the weather!!
Let me know if you like them xx

Lavinia Stamps.....

Make Magical Cards

Back with another Craft Barn Project and these lovely Lavinia stamps

An inked and embossed edge gives it a fine glittery finish
I'm not into fairy and fantasy designs as a rule but I'm a bit smitten with these and I'm thinking the believe stamp will be great for scrapbooking

So for all the "how to make"  details go across to the CB Blog and you can also see the other DT Lavinia makes this week

January Calendar....

2015 brings a new challenge over at the Craft Barn and it is to make a monthly calendar.
http://www.thecraftbarn.co.uk/blog/

You may notice that we are making this for 2016 so be the end of the year it will be ready to put together.
The remit for January was to use the colour Aqua and snowflakes and this is what I came up with.......

The background is quite twinkly but I'm not sure the photograph shows this up very well.
I put a coat of gesso over the white card firstly and did it quite roughly to add a bit of texture.
Then I sprayed it with an aqua colour and while it was still wet I sprinkled on some ultra fine white glitter

So come back next month for the February calendar and see what I come up with for that one

I had a fabulous day, yesterday,  at the Crafty Bunch demoing with Brushos and this is one of the cards I made. It was really liked by the ladies who came to watch.

This technique was done using gold texture paste and a stencil

Back soon xx

Will You......

B MINE......

DT Project time again for the Craft Barn and the remit was to use the trio of wooden hearts. Now I'm sure you will have noticed that I've used more than a trio, to be exact one pack and the two smaller ones  from a second pack. All the hearts were painted black on both sides then I've heat embossed them all with different colours of powder. I used white, gold and silver.
The letters are greyboard, you could use any. Each one was painted in red Pebeo Setacolour paint
which dries like a suede effect.

The stamps are Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous  and all products used are available at the Craft Barn.
More details over on the blog

So now after asking the question, who will be mine???????

         I wonder!!

Candy Box Crafts.....

Pen Crate

I've been playing with the fab pen crate and came up with this

It goes together really easily, as do all the CBC products.
I painted it with black gesso first and then set about adding texture paste, muslin, die cuts, buttons, pearls and embellishments.  Another coat of the black gesso, or paint will do, went over everything then when it was dry I gave it all a brush over with
Gilding  Wax

I seem to have developed a real liking for doing this technique and you can use up all the things in vile colours that you will never use and transform them into beautiful embellies

I've even used a flower I made with paper clay that didn't turn out so well but looked fab when painted and gilded with the wax

Let me know what you think guys

Back To The.......

Crafty Bunch

Another return visit to Telford this week, Saturday 17th Jan, for a Brusho Demonstration.  So another fun day is on the cards, along with Sues' famous salmon sandwiches

.Another "Back Too" for the following weekend is Daisy Jewels and Crafts in Coventry on the 24th Jan, where I'll be taking my little pots of WOW powders to work some magic.

This is  followed by another "Back Too" the next day, the 25th, with a visit to Hull and Craftique for a Dabble Day. I'll be doing mini workshops covering a little notebook and using IndigoBlu stamps and paints.

All the dates for my Demos and Workshops are listed over on the sidebar  to the left <<< and are updated often

Okay and finally it's the end of another era. Jones Craft have disbanded the Design Team so it is with regret that I won't be designing for them any more. I have so enjoyed working with all the scrummy goodies they supply but as I love them anyway you will still probably see me using them.
You may still see me around demonstrating for them.

Gelatos....

and embossing

DT time again for the Craft Barn and the first project of 2015 is using the wonderful Gelatos.
So I've made a card. As usual all the make info is on the Craft Barn Blog so pop over and take a look.
         http://www.thecraftbarn.co.uk/blog/

I've also coloured the ribbons with the Gelatos. They are lovely to work with, like little sticks of lipstick.
I've used a fabby Tim Holtz stamp for the embossing, which is done before the colour is added.
Little dots of Liquid Pearls add the finishing touch

At the Crafty Bunch

Well what an action packed day we had yesterday!!

We had eighteen lovely ladies all eager to learn some WOW techniques and they all went home with lots of goodies .

We did a variety of techniques on this tag

My next WOW demo will be at Daisy Jewels and Crafts in Coventry on the 24th January so pop along if you can and say hi but before that I'll be back at The Crafty Bunch to do a Brusho Demo on the 17th January and again would love to see you there too

Here's a couple of projects done with those little pots of pure pleasure

this is a page in my art journal and below is a lovely little covered notebook

So it's back off to the craft room now to put away all the workshop stuff

2015......

Happy New Year To You All!!

As you may have noticed I've had a little break from Blogging but I'm now fully recharged and raring to go again. Here's hoping you will all still be joining  me again through another year.

Tomorrow I'm off for my first workshop of the year and that's at one of my favourite places, The Crafty Bunch at Telford. We will be doing a WOW workshop and it's gonna be a very busy day with lots of projects.

This is one of the projects using a WOW stamp set and embossing powder.
My love of black, white and kraft card shines through on this design!

Some time ago in the distant past I used to do a monthly class making a calendar using Graphic45 papers so when I spied the new Time To Flourish Collection I had the idea of doing a monthly picture. Now I know it would be quite normal to start with January but I've never been normal so I've started with December!!

I've only used the December sheet but I've used two of them, plus some sheet music paper I have.
The Poinsettias are a Memory Box die
So now, because I like it so much, I need to make the other eleven months!!
Ill be picking my papers up at the Crafty Bunch tomorrow I think!

Well I'm off to pack my bags now and I promise to be right back very soon
