Popping Up........

With a Wedding Anniversary box

This is another DT design for The Craft Barn and the theme is Wedding Anniversaries. Now it don't take much brain work to see that I've gone with Silver.
I do love these little pop ups as you can do soooo much with them.

This is the template I work by for this box but you can make them any size you wish

Pop over to the Craft Barn Blog for a PDF download and step by step instructions.

I Challenge Thee...........

To Design From  A Sketch!!

That was the remit for this months IndigoBlu Challenge. This is where to find the other DT inspiration http://indigoblublogchallenge.blogspot.com/2014/09/challenge-20-sketch.html

We were given a sketch and asked to design a project from it. I chose to do a Christmas card using the Rocking Robin, Snowflake and Dinkie message stamps.

Instead of using inks I thought I'd stamp the snowflakes with Gee So Good Gesso. I love this stuff!!
A bit of a twinkle with some Stickles added a finishing touch.
The robin stamp was done on parchment/vellum and I don't want to go into too much detail about how I've done it as I'm teaching this effect in two workshops and it wouldn't be fair to the ladies that are coming to do them.

The workshops are at The Paper Warehouse on Thursday 25th September  and Craftique on Saturday 11th October. If you would like to join me please contact the shops for details.

Won't You Drive .......

My Sleigh Tonight

This is a Jones Craft DT Project made using a Candy Box Crafts small sleigh and Kaisercraft Yuletide Collection papers and Collectables

I took the less simple way of decorating the sleigh and did the draw around and cut out technique but it was well worth it. I didn't wait to paint it

The Collectables work perfectly on the sleigh, hope you agree, I can just see this filled with choccies for Christmas.

So with my sleigh, my star and my tree I'm already building up this years Christmas display

The Suede Effect.....

Well how amazing is the Pebeo Setacolor Suede Effect Paint!! The DT for the Craft Barn were asked to use this paint in this weeks project. I decided to use it on cardstock and not fabric.
I die cut the holly leaves and the poinsettias then covered them with the paint. To activate the suede effect I dried  them with a heat gun. The heat gives them some texture too, it's amazing stuff! I dropped some of the red paint onto where the berries are and when I dried them they went all bobbly and wrinkled, so cool!.

The papers are from the Kaisercraft Yuletide Collection and I've cut around the Christmas Times title, added a bit of Antique Linen Distress Ink around the edges and give them a coating of Glossy Accents

I think you could have some great fun with these paints and there are more pics to see of this card on the Craft Barn Blog along with the other DT projects for this week
so take a look here

Scrapathon.....

A heart of butterflies and coiled flowers using Maja Design papers.
These papers are so beautiful and a joy to work with. It was great to have  the designs already printed on the butterflies but I've added some inked edges to make them stand out more on the page

For this weeks Craft Barn project the DT all are doing Scrap Layouts and this is my daughters christening day, thirty years ago. She probably wont thank me for telling you that!!

A full tutorial is on the blog with a PDF download too

Trinkets Boxes.......

Tripled!!
Well why make one when you can make three!!
Over at The Craft Barn we were asked to design with the Sizzix Cube Die and we've all come up with amazing and very different designs.
For my boxes I've used Distress Paints, Crackle Paint and Treasure Gold to add colour. My Tim Holtz Tattered Floral Die came into use again for the flower and I decided to use various materials, like calico, hessian and tulle, to make it. A little added metal for finishing touches.
Another TH die was used for the butterfly border.
As usual there is a step by step tutorial over on the CB Blog
These little boxes would make great gifts or even to put a gift inside!!
