Christmas Snowmen...

It's that time of the month when I do my christmas card classes and here are two of the cards. I really love this stamp, I can usually come up with a new design with it, it never ceases to fail me. An oldie but goody.
This card has been done by masking. That's stamping the front image then covering it with a cut of the image and stamping to either side but higher up to get the perspective right. I stamped another image onto spare white card then cut out his hat, scarf and the bowl of his pipe. I raised them with 3d gel and added sparkle with a glue pen and Glamour dust glitter. You have to have a little sparkle!!

I've masked again here to put the script behind the image. I have used Stardust pens to add the colour on this one. Good old favourites.

A New Card....

Back again with a card for you today. Pink Tulip has these new shaped cards in stock, round, square oval and rectangular. As you can see this is a round one (not rocket science is it).
Pink and orange seem to be the colours "en trend" at the moment and I do like them together very much. I started by blending some Wild honey and  Dried Marigold distress inks along with Wild Plum Adirondack over the card.
I have used my favourite script stamp from Kaiser to stamp around the outer and have used Adirondack Wild Plum Ink to stamp it.
Next I die cut a Spellbinders circle die with some pink floral paper then I cut a loopy circle and coloured it again with the same inks and stamped a greeting in the centre. Then I layered them onto the card and cut our three butterflies from a sheet of butterflies Kaisercraft paper, from the Tigerlilly range.
Have to say this is not my usual type of card to make but I do quite like it and it was well received when I taught it in a class.
Hope you like it too

Ribbon flower tutorial...

Hi bloggers, here's the tutorial for the flower shown on my crafty ribbons DT card.
You can use most ribbons to make this flower, I must just say though that sometimes your flower will look like a rose and other times like a carnation, it just depends on what type of ribbon and how much you gather and pleat.
You start off with 12 inches of red line sticky tape, not the narrow one, it needs to be 6 or 9 mm and 12 inches of ribbon. Stick it to your cutting mat or craft mat.
Remove the backing from the  tape and stick the ribbon  across the tape leaving half of the width of the tape showing along the bottom.
From one end, it doesn't matter which, start to roll the ribbon by rolling the sticky tape and it will start to form the centre.
Now pull the tape from the cutting mat and as you roll the tape/ribbon gather and pinch at the same time.
Continue to roll and pinch till you come to the end of the ribbon. Try to keep the bottom straight.
You can then push the flower down on your mat to just flatten it a little.
The depth of the flower will be determined by how wide your ribbon is.
Practise makes perfect but they are really easy to do.
Hope this tutorial helps you and I will keep trying to get my blogger problem resolved.

My First DT Card....

For the Crafty Ribbons Challenge.
Well here it is, my first card using the yummy scrummy ribbons from Crafty Ribbons. It was o nice to be asked to join the team and I hope I can do them proud.
On this card I have used the wonderful seam binding, in three shades of blue, to make ribbon flowers. I love these flowers, they are so easy to make yet look really effective.
To my followers who don't know of the Crafty Ribbons Challenge why not pop over to the blog and take a look. You never know, you may want to take part in the challenge yourself.

Time Flies....

Oooh am loving my new clock die!
This car was made using one of the fab new Prima tags. I've added some TH tissue tape, a doilly, stamped a butterfly and  added a bit of washi butterfly tape. The cogs come with the clock die along with the clock hands of course. It's a Robert Adams die. I had been searching for the right die for me for quite some time. The ribbon is Creative Expressions, which I won in their first blog hop!!

Putting The Flags Out...

Here we are again, this time I've got a card for you. Now I was never a lover of all the flags and banners when the world and his brother were adorning all their cards and scrapbook pages with them, but lately Ihave been sneaking one or two in on my cards and pages. I have to be awkward!! So the card for today has flag and banner overload.
I have used Kaisercraft Utopia Paper Range and have inked all edges with Dusty Concorde Distress Ink.
Hope you like......

Art For Artsake....

I decided I wanted an art journal, not so much art journalling but more of sometimes I just want to play with some of my yummy scrummy stash. Occasionally I want to design and make but not necessarily for a card or project. So I thought I would get me a book. So this book needs a cover....
So now I can start to play, and this is a little peek at what I have been getting up to in this here little book
Don't you just love JOFY stamps
Well what do you think??
Has it inspired you to just go ahead and play??
